Occupy Some Time

Folly

We used to share our dreams

Now we hardly share a bed.

Instead, we hurl frustrations

Fueled by the outside world

From past and future!

The present is uncertain.

The last time we spoke

I didn’t catch your eye.

Don’t lie, the spark’s faded

From berated fantasies;

Byproducts of childhood

Ignorance. Where is bliss?

The world trudges on

Outside our corner window;

A show we’ve observed

For ages, and now our

Aegis has finally decayed

From a million-million words.

Why didn’t the world stop

When we did?
