Poetry Releases Pent-up Emotions
Breathe deep and exhale, let it be known, Anger
and Fear hook deep. Able to transform
oceans into mountains, hunger into feasts,
cities into ruins. A power wielded with Fear
ensures only that the powerful are afraid.
Who will tell them we know what they are?
Breathe steady, clear and stable, knowing
Happiness and Serenity are oft’ rare
occurrences in nature. Power is always
a struggle for those who have none.
Breathe easy and swift for they are near.
Who will tell them we know who they are?
Words to be Spoken:
Folly
We used to share our dreams
Now we hardly share a bed.
Instead, we hurl frustrations
Fueled by the outside world
From past and future!
The present is uncertain.
Life is not a Highway
And I don’t have a car.
I have a ticket for this seat
And some time to kill.
Ode on a Handwrought Book
When are you from – what manner
Of Man has placed their skin
On your skin – heard your voice?
Silent musings.
The Sign of Oblivion
With bare walls and lit roads,
No real thoughts unfold along
Busy streets and empty souls,
Shambling husks moving to and fro.
Humble Robotic Testimony
Metal scrapes along my breast,
And I wonder what I should do next.
No, not should, but could achieve.
But would I really do what I believe?
Growling
It’s cold outside. I’m chilly, frigid,
Winter’s comin’ and it’s funny,
The Suits We Wear
Somethin’ ain’t right in the world,
I find more comfort in the company of demons;
I picked a budding rose
From a field of fallen sunflowers.
From a field of fallen sunflowers.
Quarters
I try not to think too fondly, when we played
Quarters in the classroom
Until our knuckles became bloodied to the bone.
